Tony Wilson interviews John Cooper Clarke

Today is the eighth annversary of the death of Tony Wilson, the impossible to describe man (promoter? Journalist? Hypeman?) who brought the world Joy Division, the Hacienda, and Lord knows what else.

Here, just cos we like it, is Wilson's 1977 interview with punk poer John Cooper Clarke, including a performance of You'll Never See A Nipple In The Daily Express, and Wilson's immortal line "one of the many strange things about John Cooper Clarke is that the new wave poet uses the old wave technique of 'rhyme'."

And, as a bonus, here's Mike Garry's heartfelt and lovely tribute St Anthony
